When is it released? - Mid-November

What's the criteria for inclusion? What is a High-Volume Retailer? Does it include CompUSA or PETsMART? - This resource was initially designed to detail information on fast-turn, high-volume retailers that were secondary markets for consumer packaged goods such as paper towels, HBC items like toothpaste, and canned food. At our users request we broadened the scope: it now provides information on discount stores, dollar stores, wholesale clubs, supercenters, chain drug stores, department stores, and military buying centers. It also features data on "Category Killers" or specialty retailers in other retail sectors like toy stores, office supply superstores, and pet stores. These specialty retailers are featured if there are at least 4 stores in operation that average over 20,000 sq. ft.

How is High-Volume Retailers better than other directories? - We can't speak for anyone else's research, but we can tell you that our print and electronic directories have an excellent reputation for accuracy and usefulness. Each year we update each profile through direct company contact, and throughout the year we track the industry through the Internet, trade journals and other sources. We have built our reputation on the high quality of our data and we work hard to maintain that reputation.

What formats is the information available in? - High-Volume Retailers is available on CD and as part of an online subscription package -- we no longer produce the print publication. Free demo CDs are available, or you can download the demo from our website in the Downloads section of TradeDimensions.com.

What's the difference between the CD and the online version? - The CD allows you to do various searches by location, number of stores, merchandise lines carried and more. With the CD you are also able to export information to create mailing labels and perform mail merges as well as export company information to perform your own analysis. High-Volume Retailers is available online only as part of a package that includes the supermarkets and convenience stores contained in the Marketing Guidebook and Directory of Convenience Stores. The base package is a one-year subscription for a single user, with multiple user licenses available at a significant discount. For more information on the online version, contact Tracey Jason at 203-222-5715.
